Salut!

Als Flashaholic vum Dingscht stellen ech Iech eng nei Rei vun Täscheluuchte vir, Quarks by 4sevens :

http://www.4sevens.com/index.php?cPath=297&osCsid=b302b74802f0d332d40655266573cfce

Wat ass besonnesch do drun? Den Owner vu 4sevens ass e Flashaholic vun der éischter Generatioun, huet op d'Leit gelauschtert an déi Luuchten esou entworf, dass se esou wuel einfach sinn, wéi och perfekt.

Am interessantesten ass de limited run (bis 20.7.2009 virzebestellen), mat neutral white LEDs, wat heescht, dass d'Luucht net esou schnéiwäiss ass ewéi bei normalen LEDs, mee méi an d'Richtung vu Sonneluucht geet. Zemools am Bësch ass dat e grousse Virdeel, et kënnt alles méi natierlech eriwer a wierkt net esou platt, och, wa se net grad esou hell ewéi déi schnéiwäiss sinn :

http://www.4sevens.com/index.php?cPath=297_310

Et kritt een d'Luuchte mat 1 x AA Batterie, 2 x AA, 1 x CR123A an 2 x CR123A. Da kann een nach en normalen User Interface wielen oder en tactical User Interface, den Ennerscheed fënnt een um Site eraus.

CR123A Batterien kritt een do och bëlleg, wann een der genuch (50) bestellt.

Avis aux amateurs!

Recently I order a Romisen RC-B12 flashlight on a famous auction website. And for a ridiculous price 16 euros I get this nice 270 lumens flashlight that is really really bright (better than my Fenix LD20), there are 2 UV led emitters that is enough to read some UV text in some new caches Very Happy, they "give" also 2 * 18650 battery and the charger .
The freight tax is just more expensive that the whole stuff but for less that 40 euros that is a good price for the few night caches around.

This 18650 battery also power my Zebralight H60 light that is the best flash light I ever had, small, powerfull, last long, hand free, 3*2 light mode ...

Hi rouch!

I've got no Romisen, as they are somewhat crap, speaking of the built quality. The LD20 is a great light and I would advise you to always have it in your backup in case the Romisen quits working.

As for the 18650, I hesitate in buying the cells and a charger. I hope you have protected cells, unprotected ones are only for rechargeables-experts, they can get really dangerous up to the point of exploding, no joke. Protected cells are fine though, but you'd better research some information on how they want to be treated if you really want to enjoy them.

I'll stick to the CR123A primaries, which aren't that expensive if you buy them over Internet, 4sevens e.g. have now their own brand, quality cells, the pack of 50 costs 70$...

The Zebralight H60 is highly interesting, the brightest headlamp around and a serious one! The only reson I didn't buy it, is, that it takes an 18650... We got two Litexpress Liberty 115, they take one CR123A and throw out 130 Lumen, but mostly we use them on Low only. The quadratic beam isn't that nice, the Zebralights offer pure flood, as they work without reflectors and optics, but I thought the Litexpress was a better choise than the H30, which has "only" 80 Lumen.

I don't start with rechargeables, because it risks to become a second hobby as well. There are not only RCR123 and 18650, but many more cells, some can replae an AA or an AAA and can also explode if you don't know how to manage them. Another reason is, that many lights run unregulated on the 18650, but now they more and more built lights designed for the 18650 which actually run regulated on it, but no longer on primaries. I wonder how long I'll resist until I'll have a drawer full of chargers and rechargeables.

The most interesting part of the Quarks is, that you can get them in neutral white, othr brands also start to offer those, in a forest that's an unbeatable advantage, the color rendition is much better as with the pure white of actual LED lights and things seem more three-dimensional. The EagleTac T20C2, which will be available soon, also offers the neutral white option...

Greets,

Thierry
